This Women’s History Month, Optimum is proud to provide grants to Black-owned small businesses, support our communities through funding classroom projects for women teachers, and keep women-owned businesses connected.

Helping Black women-owned businesses thrive:

Optimum's partnership with the Coalition to Back Black Businesses has provided $450,000 in support to Black-owned small businesses to further growth opportunities and economic resilience.

  • Arlene Donovan, Turning Point Coaching LLC, Connecticut

    Turning Point Coaching, LLC is a nationally recognized workforce development practice working with individuals, small business owners, and others to serve the unemployed and underemployed, marginalized, and underrepresented populations across all industries. They provide career transitions, career coaching services, and more.

  • Valour Cobbins, The Bread and Butter Shoppe, Mississippi

    The Bread and Butter Shoppe is located in the Mississippi Delta serving gourmet sandwiches, wraps, salads, smoothies, fresh juices, wellness shots, milk teas, and much more. It serves food made fresh daily using whole ingredients that are locally sourced.

  • Paulana Lamonier, Black People Will Swim, New York

    B.P.W.S. advocates for Black people who do not have access to learn how to swim and for the unlearning of the racist stereotype that has held Black people back: that Black people cannot swim because their bones are too dense. B.P.W.S. provides low-cost and free swim classes through partnerships with local pools and creates job opportunities in local communities.
